When J.O.O.N.A.S. stops working, first identify whether it has stopped cleaning, launching capsules or delivering received material. Patch 1.0.4 removed dock trips; patch 1.0.5 routes launches to the emptiest catcher in the nearest group. Waiting for a dock return is therefore not the first check for this version. S03S04S17
Find the first stopped stage
| Observation | Check next |
|---|---|
| Robot is inactive near dusty ground | Its information panel, remaining reachable ground and installed version |
| Robot collects but storage fills | Whether launches occur and which catcher group receives them |
| Launches occur but the expected catcher stays empty | Other receivers in the nearest group and their occupancy |
| Catcher receives capsules but fills | Catcher outlet, first belt and every downstream transition |
| Capsules reach the station but no sale appears | Actual intake entry and payment display |
Follow the same capsule where possible. A robot map marker, an empty favorite catcher or an unchanged balance alone does not tell you which stage failed.
Check ground before buying another robot
The developer says J.O.O.N.A.S. skips ground it cannot reach around buildings. Inspect the local completion display and the dusty edges around structures. Patch 1.0.5 also addresses distant hexes stuck at 99.9%. Those changes support checking the current ground state and build before deciding the robot needs more receiving capacity. S03S04
If you move a structure to inspect access, recheck attached belts afterward. A newly disconnected output can create a second problem while you investigate the first.
Check the whole catcher group
In 1.0.5 the robot chooses the emptiest receiver in the nearest group, with catchers within 100 m of each other. Delivery switches to another group only when every receiver in the first group exceeds 80% occupancy. One full receiver does not establish that the whole group is unavailable. S04
Inspect all local receivers, not just the one that used to receive deliveries. Use Capsule Catcher full for a growing queue or Joonas to catcher ratio when deciding whether another receiver is useful.
Record a reproducible comparison
Record the build, local completion, robot activity and bin reading. Note catcher occupancy, any machine error and where material stops. Repeat after changing one connection or access obstruction. Keep other crew deliveries paused when comparing sales.
If the only trigger is leaving the area, use the far-away robot comparison and keep J.O.O.N.A.S. separate from Mk I/Mk II. These are source-based checks; this site has not reproduced the fault in a game session.
